Stevia is a naturally sweet plant native to Paraguay that is 30 times sweeter than sugar in its unprocessed form. It is known to be all-natural, contains zero calories and has a glycemic index of zero. Through a patented process the pure glycosides can be extracted from the Stevia leaves and turned into an intensely sweet powder that is 300 times sweeter than sugar.
Stevia Leaf Extract is a white or off-white crystalline granule or powder with a cool sweet taste that does not easily disappear. It is about 250-350 times sweeter than sugar. Stevia Leaf Extract is a calorie-free sweetener, which can, instead of cane sugar, help to treat diabetes, hypertension and can also help with the treatment of adiposity, cardiovascular disease, gastritis and acid reflux as an auxiliary method.

In 1899, after the famous Swiss botanist Moisés Santiago Bertoni, did research in the eastern part of Paraguay, the detailed paper was first published about the stevia plant and its sweet aspects, which made a new sweet sugar source to be known to the people outside of the Middle and South America.
